Mid Wales/Shropshire border born and bred, from a very young age I have been surrounded by animals: from my grandparents dairy farm animals (and pets!) to my own pet cats, budgerigars, indoor fish, hamsters, rabbit, and gerbils, to family and friends working dogs and pet dogs. As a teenager I was really into horses and took many horse riding lessons. I currently care for a family pet Jack Russell for several long periods each year (my own part-time pet dog!). I worked in a pet shop at weekends during completion of my A-Levels, which was a job which I loved and gave me contact and experience with customers, pets, pet care products and giving pet care advice.
In recent years, I have consolidated my experience with voluntary work at both Grinshill Animal Rescue, both dog walking and caring for cats, and at the local RSPCA branch at Gonsal Farm, as well as gaining holiday cattery experience. I’ve undertaken various courses, including PDSA Animal Welfare Act (2006) awareness modules and a recent Pet First Aid course.
I pride myself on my caring, organised and professional nature. Be assured that I make your pets health, happiness and safety THE priority in my work. I know that pet care is not just a 5 minute job of putting some food out for your pets. Day to day pet care encompasses feeding, fussing and petting (love and cuddles!), grooming, play and exercise, health checks and more. Not only that, but if you require your home to appear more lived in, I offer additional tasks at no extra cost to achieve this, as well as regular updates on your pets (please see Services & Prices page).
I also understand that it is sometimes too much to ask friends, family members or neighbours to take on the responsibility for caring for your pets for any period, long or short- especially in today’s busy world. Remember, whoever is caring for your pet has a legal responsibility (duty of care) to meet the welfare needs of your pets and to prevent their suffering, as set out in the Animal Welfare Act of 2006. So why not have a dedicated pet sitter who will protect the overall health and wellbeing of your pets whenever you are apart? Each pet is different, and sometimes only a professional has the time and dedication to ensure every pet has the individual care and attention that they need in your absence!
We are fully insured, DBS (CRB) checked (please ask to see certificate) and a member of NarpsUK (National Association of Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers UK).
That’s the professional difference.
